       Introduced  by  Sens.  LAVALLE,  CROCI,  FUNKE,  GOLDEN, HANNON, SERINO,
         SEWARD -- read twice and ordered  printed,  and  when  printed  to  be
         committed to the Committee on Local Government
       AN ACT to repeal subdivision (f) of section 217 of the general municipal
         law relating to service award programs
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision (f) of section 217 of the general municipal law
    2  is REPEALED.
    3    S 2.   Notwithstanding the provisions of  any  service  award  program
    4  adopted  pursuant to article eleven-a of the general municipal law prior
    5  to the effective date of this act, the  repeal  of  subdivision  (f)  of
    6  section 217 of the general municipal law made by section one of this act
    7  shall apply to every such service award program.
    8    S 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
