FELDER -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections -- recommitted to the Committee on Elections in accordance with Senate Rule 6, sec. 8 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said committee AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to the date upon which a run-off primary election is to be held in the city of New York during the 2014 calendar year; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon the expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subdivision 1 of section 8-100 of the 2 election law, as added by chapter 373 of the laws of 1978, is amended to 3 read as follows: 4 (b) In the event a run-off primary election is required in the city of 5 New York, it shall be held on the second Tuesday next succeeding the 6 date on which the initial primary election was held; PROVIDED, HOWEVER, 7 THAT IN THE EVENT THAT A RUN-OFF PRIMARY ELECTION IS REQUIRED IN THE 8 CITY OF NEW YORK DURING THE TWO THOUSAND FOURTEEN CALENDAR YEAR, SUCH 9 ELECTION SHALL BE HELD ON THE THIRD TUESDAY NEXT SUCCEEDING THE DATE ON 10 WHICH THE INITIAL PRIMARY ELECTION WAS HELD. 11 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be 12 deemed repealed January 1, 2015.
