       Introduced  by  Sen. ADDABBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Veterans, Homeland Securi-
         ty and Military Affairs
       AN ACT to amend the executive law, in relation to requiring the division
         of veterans' affairs to provide an internet  connection  to  correlate
         military occupations and skills into civilian translations and terms
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision 7 of  section  353  of  the  executive  law  is
    2  amended to read as follows:
    3    7.  To  develop and encourage plans for the occupational reorientation
    4  of veterans who are residents of this state, including the determination
    5  and certification of civilian equivalents for  military  experience  and
    6  the development and encouragement of on-the-job training and apprentice-
    7  ship  training  programs.    FURTHERMORE,  THE DIVISION SHALL PROVIDE AN
    8  INTERNET CONNECTION TO CORRELATE MILITARY OCCUPATIONS  AND  SKILLS  INTO
    9  CIVILIAN TRANSLATIONS AND TERMS.
   10    S  2.  This  act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall
   11  have become a law, provided that any rules or regulations necessary  for
   12  the  implementation  of  this act shall be promulgated on or before such
   13  effective date.
