       Introduced  by  Sen.  SEWARD -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation
       AN ACT to direct the department of environmental conservation to author-
         ize the installation of a dry hydrant on Colgate Lake in the  town  of
         Jewett, county of Greene
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any law, rule, regulation or  plan  to  the
    2  contrary,  the  department  of environmental conservation is directed to
    3  authorize the installation of a  dry  hydrant  within  the  Colgate  dam
    4  reconstruction  project  or  to otherwise deem such installation to be a
    5  conforming use.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
