AMEDORE -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Transportation -- reported favorably from said committee, ordered to first report, amended on first report, ordered to a second report and ordered reprinted, retaining its place in the order of second report AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Sergeant Jeremy J. VanNostrand Memo- rial Highway" The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-i to 2 read as follows: 3 § 344-i. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the 4 "Sergeant Jeremy J. VanNostrand Memorial Highway". The portion of state 5 route 5S in the town of Glen, county of Montgomery shall be designated 6 and known as the "Sergeant Jeremy J. VanNostrand Memorial Highway". 7 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 8 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 9 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 10 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 11 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 12 ceremonial nature and the official name of such highway shall not be 13 changed as a result of this act. 14 § 3.
