         printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections
       AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation to limitation  on  compen-
         sation by inauguration committees
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The election law is amended by adding a new section  14-125
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S  14-125.  LIMITATION ON COMPENSATION BY INAUGURATION COMMITTEES.  NO
    4  PERSON WHO WORKS ON A REGULAR BASIS,  EITHER  WITH  OR  WITHOUT  COMPEN-
    5  SATION,  FOR  A  POLITICAL COMMITTEE FOR A STATEWIDE ELECTED OFFICE, MAY
    6  THEREAFTER RECEIVE COMPENSATION FROM A COMMITTEE ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE OR
    7  AID IN THE INAUGURATION OF THE  STATEWIDE  ELECTED  OFFICIAL  FOR  WHOSE
    8  COMMITTEE SUCH PERSON WORKED.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
