STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 868 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN SENATE (Prefiled) January 6, 2021 ___________ Introduced by Sen. SKOUFIS -- read twice and ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee on Rules AN ACT to amend a chapter of the laws of 2020, relating to authorizing the commissioner of general services to transfer and convey certain unappropriated state land to Rockland Recovery Homes, Inc., as proposed in legislative bills numbers S.5948 and A.7821, in relation to the purpose of lands transferred, to the reverter interest of lands transferred and to the effectiveness thereof The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Sections 5 and 6 of a chapter of the laws of 2020, relating 2 to authorizing the commissioner of general services to transfer and 3 convey certain unappropriated state land to Rockland Recovery Homes, 4 Inc., as proposed in legislative bills numbers S. 5948 and A. 7821, are 5 amended to read as follows: 6 § 5. Any lands transferred pursuant to this act shall be used for the 7 purposes of Rockland Recovery Homes, Inc. to utilize the subject proper- 8 ty and improve the structures on the subject property to operate a 9 facility serving persons recovering from addiction, and upon termination 10 of such use, title to the lands so transferred shall revert to the state 11 of New York. The reverter interest, specifying that title to the lands 12 so transferred shall revert to the state of New York upon termination of 13 such use, shall be included in any conveyance instrument used to trans- 14 fer such land pursuant to this act. 15 § 6. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire and be 16 deemed repealed 2 years after such date. 17 § 2. This act shall take effect on the same date and in the same 18 manner as a chapter of the laws of 2020, relating to authorizing the 19 commissioner of general services to transfer and convey certain unappro- 20 priated state land to Rockland Recovery Homes, Inc., as proposed in 21 legislative bills numbers S. 5948 and A. 7821, takes effect.
