       Introduced  by  Sen.  ALESI  -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
         printed to be committed to the Committee on Education
       AN ACT to amend the education law,  in  relation  to  the  authority  of
         school  personnel  who  are  trained  emergency medical technicians to
         administer emergency treatment on school premises
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. The education law is amended by adding a new section 912-c
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S 912-C. AUTHORITY OF  SCHOOL  PERSONNEL  WHO  ARE  TRAINED  EMERGENCY
    4  MEDICAL TECHNICIANS TO ADMINISTER EMERGENCY TREATMENT. IN THE EVENT OF A
    5  MEDICAL EMERGENCY OCCURRING ON SCHOOL PREMISES, SCHOOL PERSONNEL IN EACH
    6  SCHOOL  DISTRICT  OF THE STATE WHO ARE ALSO TRAINED AS EMERGENCY MEDICAL
    7  TECHNICIANS ARE HEREBY AUTHORIZED TO ADMINISTER SUCH  EMERGENCY  MEDICAL
    8  TREATMENT  ON  THE  SCHOOL  PREMISES  AS  THEY  ARE OTHERWISE TRAINED TO
    9  PROVIDE OFF THE PREMISES.
   10    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
