        CONGRATULATING  the  Utica 1 Curling Team upon the
        occasion of capturing the 2022 United States Women's
        Curling Association National Championship

  WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body to pay tribute  to
those exemplary athletes and organizations that excel in club athletics,
distinguishing  themselves through notable achievements and representing
the great Empire State with pride and determination; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate the Utica 1 Curling Team upon the occasion of capturing the
2022  United  States  Women's  Curling  Association   (USWCA)   National
Championship; and

  WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the Utica
1  Curling Team defeated the Blackhawk Curling Club in a 10-6 victory to
win their first Championship since 1967 on Sunday, February 27, 2022, at
the Utica Curling Club in Whitesboro, New York; and

  WHEREAS, Led by skip Anne Stuhlman and included Liz  Kaido,  Melissa
Foote, and Erlene Puleo, who subbed for injured Audrey Foot, the Utica 1
Curling  Team  earned  the  A  Event  Trophy, a silver-plated punch bowl
sponsored by the Wauwatosa Granites Curling Club; and

  WHEREAS, The USWCA has more than 85 member clubs  and  almost  5,000
individuals; in its 73rd year, the USWCA's annual tournament included 32
teams from 12 states; and

  WHEREAS, All of the outstanding athletes on the Utica 1 Curling Team
have   clearly   utilized  dedication,  determination  and  teamwork  in
providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is  a
tradition of their club; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate the members of the Utica 1 Curling Team: Anne Stuhlman, Liz
Kaido, Melissa Foote, Erlene Puleo and Audrey Foot upon the occasion  of
capturing  the  2022  United States Women's Curling Association National
Championship; and

  RESOLVED, That copies of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to the members of the Utica 1 Curling Team.
