Senate Resolution No. 2233 BY: Senator MURRAY CONGRATULATING the New York State Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2024 NYSPHSAA Bowling Championship on March 9, 2024 WHEREAS, Individual and team championships are highly sought after in high school sports; this Legislative Body commends rare athletic achievements and pays special recognition to those who pursue such excellence and become examples for the youth of this great Empire State; and WHEREAS, Athletic competition helps to enhance both the moral and physical development of young athletes, preparing them for the future by instilling in them the importance of teamwork, encouraging a standard of healthy living, and developing a sense of fair play and competition; and WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to congratulate the New York State Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team upon the occasion of capturing the 2024 NYSPHSAA Bowling Championship, held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at AMF Strike N Spare Lanes in Syracuse, New York; and WHEREAS, To the praise and applause of their excited fans, the Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team, hailing from Suffolk County in New York State had a total pinfall of 6,801 total pins; they were 47 pins above their closest opponent; and WHEREAS, These outstanding athletes who together have achieved this commendable and distinguished championship victory, represent many school districts in Suffolk County; the champion team members include Anthony Manetta from Comsewogue School District, Christopher Rinaldi from South Huntington Union Free School District, Vinny Petrillo from Deer Park Union Free School District, Andrew Jacobsen from East Islip Union Free School District, Matthew Sundberg from East Islip Union Free School District, and Corey Volper from Longwood Central School District; and WHEREAS, In a sport such as bowling, which demands athletic prowess, precision and adaptability, Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team Coach Doug Dwyer, Coach John Romero, Coach Sonny Casale, Coach Judith Fischer, Coach John DiGiacomo, and Coach Mike D'Ambrosio have worked hard to hone the skills of this championship team, teaching these outstanding athletes lessons which will prove invaluable both on and off the lanes; and WHEREAS, These fine coaches and all of the outstanding athletes on the Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team have clearly utilized dedication, determination, and teamwork in providing a lasting contribution to the spirit of excellence which is a tradition of scholar-athlete teams; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate each member of the Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team on their outstanding championship success; and be it further RESOLVED, That copies of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the members of the Section XI All-Star Boys Composite Bowling Team: Anthony Manetta, Christopher Rinaldi, Vinny Petrillo, Andrew Jacobsen, Matthew Sundberg and Corey Volper; and their coaches Doug Dwyer, John Romero, Sonny Casale, Judith Fischer, John DiGiacomo, and Mike D'Ambrosio.
