Senate Resolution No. 1728 BY: Senator KENNEDY MOURNING the death of Gerald Caci, distinguished citizen and devoted member of his community WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to pay tribute to citizens of the State of New York whose lifework and civic endeavor served to enhance the quality of life in their communities and this great Empire State; and WHEREAS, Gerald "Jerry" Caci of Buffalo, New York, died on December 7, 2021, at the age of 80; and WHEREAS, Gerald Caci distinguished himself in his profession and by his sincere dedication and substantial contribution to the welfare of his community; and WHEREAS, After graduating from Grover Cleveland High School, Gerald Caci pursued a career in the entertainment industry in Hollywood; and WHEREAS, Some of Gerald Caci's favorite pastimes included playing polo, riding horses, hosting dinners at his family home, and acting; and WHEREAS, His commitment to excellence, and his spirit of humanity, carried over into all fields of enterprise, including charitable and civic endeavors; and WHEREAS, Gerald Caci served for many years on the Board of Directors of the Federation of Italian-American Societies of Western New York, The Good Government Club of Western New York and was closely associated with the newly established Italian Cultural Center and the Canadian Italian Business and Professional Association; he was highly regarded and respected by many persons in government, in the law and judiciary, and in the medical professions; and WHEREAS, The ability of Gerald Caci to make lifelong friends with everyone he met is a lasting tribute to his spirit and he will be highly regarded for his kindness and colorful spirit; and WHEREAS, Gerald Caci is survived by his wife, Denise; a daughter, Valentina; two sons, Gino and Jerry; and four grandchildren, Brooke, Ava, Matthew, and Ashley; and WHEREAS, Armed with a humanistic spirit and imbued with a sense of compassion, Gerald Caci leaves behind a legacy which will long endure the passage of time and will remain as a comforting memory to all he served and befriended; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to mourn the death of Gerald Caci; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to the family of Gerald Caci.
