        CONGRATULATING  Anita Seaburg upon the occasion of
        celebrating her 105th Birthday

  WHEREAS, Senior citizens bring a wealth of experience and  knowledge
to  the  increasingly  active  roles they play in today's society; their
past contributions and future participation are a  vital  part  of,  and
valuable asset to, the fabric of community life and activity; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the custom of this Legislative Body to commemorate
and recognize certain milestones celebrated by citizens  of  this  great
Empire State; and

  WHEREAS,  Attendant  to  such  concern,  and in full accord with its
long-standing traditions, this  Legislative  Body  is  justly  proud  to
congratulate  Anita  Seaburg  upon  the  occasion of her 105th Birthday,
which was celebrated on Tuesday, October 31, 2023; and

  WHEREAS, Born in Buffalo, New York, Anita  Seaburg  later  moved  to
Utica in the 1950s, where she has lived since; and

  WHEREAS, Anita Seaburg worked in a machine shop during World War II,
as  well  as at the former Door of Hope, which later became The Swancott
Home, a home  for  unwed  mothers;  she  was  able  to  make  a  lasting
difference in the lives of many women with her abundant care and empathy
for others; and

  WHEREAS,  She married her beloved husband Clarence at the age of 50,
spending 22 beautiful years of unwavering love  before  his  passing  in
1990; and

  WHEREAS,  Anita  Seaburg  is  an  active and cherished member of the
Katherine Luther Nursing Home on the Lutheran Care campus  of  Community
Care  Partners  in  Clinton, New York, always spreading her kindness and
words of wisdom to those who surround her; and

  WHEREAS, Throughout her years, she has loved reading and  practicing
tatting, which is a technique for handcrafting a particular durable lace
from  a  series  of  knots and loops; tatting is often used to make lace
edging, doilies, collars, earrings, necklaces, and more; and

  WHEREAS, Anita Seaburg, with her  zest  for  life,  has  undoubtedly
inspired and enhanced the lives of her family and friends; and

  WHEREAS, This exceptional centenarian has experienced the incredible
joys  and  sorrows  characteristic  of  and  reserved for those with the
stamina and courage to savor a full life; and

  WHEREAS, Anita Seaburg has enriched the lives of  those  around  her
through  her joyous and sincere love for others and through the profound
charm and wisdom which comes only from a fullness of years; and

  WHEREAS, It is the intent  of  this  Legislative  Body  to  publicly
recognize  those  who  have  reached  such a remarkable age and who have

witnessed and celebrated the  innovations,  cultural  developments,  and
marvelous  achievements  of  this country during the last century, while
themselves contributing to the  growth  and  excellence  of  this  great
Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Anita Seaburg upon the occasion of  celebrating  her  105th
Birthday; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Anita Seaburg.
