        HONORING  Ofra and Rob Panzer upon the occasion of
        their designation for special recognition by  Temple
        Israel of Great Neck on June 1, 2019

  WHEREAS,  The  unity  of  our  State  and  Nation  is built upon the
compassion of individuals such as Ofra and Rob  Panzer  who  uphold  the
values of community life and who, through their great actions, epitomize
the best of humanity; and

  WHEREAS, This Legislative Body is justly proud to honor Ofra and Rob
Panzer upon the occasion of their designation for special recognition by
Temple Israel of Great Neck at its Journal Dinner Gala on Saturday, June
1, 2019; and

  WHEREAS,  Ofra  and Rob Panzer joined Temple Israel of Great Neck in
1993, seeking a spring of Jewish education for their children; committed
to making lifelong learning a priority,  the  couple  enrolled  each  of
their four children in Waxman Youth House; and

  WHEREAS,  Rob  Pranzer  began  his involvement with Temple Israel of
Great Neck helping with a vegetable garden, the  produce  of  which  was
donated to the local community center; he soon went on to volunteer with
the first golf outing, before being responsible for Midnight Run; and

  WHEREAS,  Furthermore,  he went on to lead prayers and served on the
Board of Trustees  as  well  as  President,  the  esteemed  position  he
continues to hold today; and

  WHEREAS,  Ofra  Panzer  began  her involvement with Temple Israel of
Great Neck as a member  of  the  Religious  School  Education  Committee
(RSEC);  after  chairing  its subcommittee Parents Association for a few
years, she was asked to co-Chair the RSEC; and

  WHEREAS,  In  addition,  she  served  on  the   Religious   School's
Re-Imagine  task  force  where  she  implemented a modified version of a
D'var Torah to begin each RSEC meeting, and later did the same as  Chair
of  the  Membership  Committee,  paralleling  the  tradition  and change
concept; and

  WHEREAS, With them throughout have been their four  children,  Aviva
(Abe), Sam (Daniela), Tamar and Ari, as well as two grandchildren, Eitan
and Lilah, who have all shown them love and support and rejoice in their
many achievements; and

  WHEREAS,  The  success  of  Temple Israel of Great Neck is in direct
correlation to the efforts of Ofra and Rob Panzer, whose involvement is,
and always has been,  characterized  by  an  impressive  commitment,  an
unbridled  enthusiasm,  and  an uncompromising standard of excellence in
all endeavors on behalf of the organization and the community it serves;
and

  WHEREAS, Widely known for their extraordinary dedication  to  Israel
and  the  local  community,  Ofra  and  Rob  Panzer's  philanthropic and

leadership endeavors continue to inspire all  of  those  who  are  lucky
enough to know them; and

  WHEREAS,   Rare   indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by
individuals for the benefit of others which Ofra  and  Rob  Panzer  have
displayed throughout their lives; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are  brought  to  our
attention,  they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of this great Empire State; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
honor  Ofra  and  Rob  Panzer upon the occasion of their designation for
special recognition by Temple Israel of Great Neck on June 1, 2019;  and
be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to Ofra and Rob Panzer.
