        COMMEMORATING   the   75th   Anniversary   of  the
        Community Synagogue of Rye on June 3, 2023

  WHEREAS, The quality and character of life  in  New  York  State  is
greatly  enriched  by  its  religious  institutions and the faithful and
generous service of those who devote themselves to endeavors of  family,
faith, and community; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is the sense of this Legislative Body to recognize and
commend institutions of  such  magnanimous  conduct  and  bearing  which
demonstrate  a  deep and continuing concern for others, and in so doing,
inspire others to do the same; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Community Synagogue of Rye,  New
York on Saturday, June 3, 2023; and

  WHEREAS,  Inspired by Jewish teachings and traditions, the Community
Synagogue of Rye seeks to be a center for spiritual  transformation,  to
foster  the  creation  of  sacred  relationships, and to give people the
tools and resources to heal the world with their faith; and

  WHEREAS, Their vision is guided by their commitment  to  the  Jewish
values of Worship, T'filah; Life-Long Learning, Talmud Torah; Community,
Kehilah;  Loving  Kindness, Hesed; Repairing the World, Tikkun Olam; and
Love of Israel, Ahavat Yisrael; and

  WHEREAS, The  Community  Synagogue  of  Rye  encourages  adults  and
children  to  share  in experiences of Jewish family learning and become
energized through their lively activities and discussions; and

  WHEREAS, They navigate the many paths of prayer with  a  variety  of
worship   opportunities,   all   stemming  from  Reform  Judaism's  core
principles of egalitarianism and innovation; and

  WHEREAS, the Community Synagogue of Rye shares a commitment to  seek
social  justice  through  both  individual and communal acts of Tzedakah
(righteous giving) and Gemilut Hasadim (loving kindness); and

  WHEREAS, The Community Synagogue of Rye stands on the  threshold  of
tomorrow,  prepared  to  meet the challenges of the coming decades while
retaining that spiritual resolve  which  characterizes  its  past;  now,
therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
commemorate the 75th Anniversary of Community Synagogue of Rye  on  June
3, 2023; and be it further

  RESOLVED,  That  a  copy  of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be
transmitted to the Community Synagogue of Rye.
