Senate Resolution No. 876 BY: Senator KAPLAN CONGRATULATING Aishia Azekraoui upon the occasion of receiving the Girl Scout Silver Award, Cadette Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second highest achievement WHEREAS, Aishia Azekraoui was honored with the Girl Scout Silver Award, Cadette Scouting's highest award and Girl Scouting's second highest achievement; the ceremony will be held on Friday, June 18, 2021, at Christ Lutheran Church, New Hyde Park, New York; and WHEREAS, Aishia Azekraoui is a member of the Herricks Association of Girl Scouts of Nassau County, New York; and WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's young people the goals of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of working with others, stimulating both mind and body, instilling pride, and encouraging community service and success; and WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has expanded the horizons of the countless hundreds of thousands who have participated in Scouting programs which have made Scouting an American and international institution; and WHEREAS, Aishia Azekraoui completed a Silver Award community service project which she planned, developed and executed; her project was titled Bethany house bookcase and reading club; and WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year period; it is tangible evidence of Aishia Azekraoui's high character and commitment, and is a harbinger of her future service to her community, New York State and our Nation; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to congratulate Aishia Azekraoui, recognizing her achievement in earning the Girl Scout Silver Award, and to wish her continued success in all her future endeavors; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Aishia Azekraoui.
