Senate Resolution No. 768 BY: Senator PARKER COMMENDING Greg Costa upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by AHRC New York City on April 13, 2019 WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body that the quality and character of life in this great Empire State is greatly enriched by the faithful and diligent work of those individuals who serve to meet the special needs of the community and its citizenry; and WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend Greg Costa upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by AHRC New York City to be celebrated at its 70th Annual Dinner on Saturday, April 13, 2019, in The Grand Ballroom at The Grand Hyatt New York; and WHEREAS, Greg Costa is being recognized for his steadfast and unremitting commitment to AHRC New York City, and the people it serves; in addition to his exceptional work with this vital organization, he is the Director of Operations, Levy Restaurants, T-Mobile Arena; and WHEREAS, AHRC New York City is a family governed organization committed to finding ways for people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities to build full lives as defined by each person and supported by dedicated families, staff and community partners; and WHEREAS, Each year, AHRC New York City touches the lives of over 15,000 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities throughout the five boroughs with a wide range of programs, services and supports tailored to meet their specific needs; and WHEREAS, Today, with a membership comprised of thousands of individuals, primarily persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities, their families, friends and professionals in the field, AHRC New York City is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the city; and WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that those who unselfishly devote their energy, talent and thoughtful care on behalf of improving the quality and dignity of life in the community, are worthy and due full praise and recognition for their noble and dedicated efforts; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to commend Greg Costa upon the occasion of his designation for special recognition by AHRC New York City on April 13, 2019; and be it further RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution, suitably engrossed, be transmitted to Greg Costa.
