        CONGRATULATING  Nancy  Feinstein upon the occasion
        of being  inducted  into  the  26th  Annual  May  W.
        Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of North
        Hempstead,  in  conjunction  with  the observance of
        Women's History Month

  WHEREAS, It is the custom of this Legislative Body to recognize  and
pay tribute to those women of achievement within this great Empire State
who  have made strong contributions to their communities and who inspire
others through their model citizenship; and

  WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and  in  full  accord  with  its
long-standing  traditions,  this  Legislative  Body  is  justly proud to
congratulate Nancy Feinstein upon the occasion of  being  inducted  into
the  26th  Annual  May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by the Town of
North Hempstead, in conjunction with the observance of  Women's  History
Month,  to  be celebrated with a breakfast on Wednesday, March 27, 2019,
at Harbor Links Golf Course, Port Washington, New York; and

  WHEREAS, Since 1994, North Hempstead has held the  Women's  Roll  of
Honor  breakfast  to  honor  women who have made a contribution to their
community, or have accomplished a significant achievement through public
or private efforts; Nancy Feinstein is one such woman; and

  WHEREAS, Nancy Feinstein was the  PTA  Co-President  at  the  Denton
Elementary  School, Co-President of Herricks MS PTA, and Co-President of
the Herricks Council of PTAs before joining the Board  of  Education  as
Trustee,  and  serving as both Vice President and President at one time;
and

  WHEREAS, She is involved in many booster clubs in the community  and
is  the biggest cheerleader for Girls on the Run, a special after-school
program designed to foster leadership, healthy living, and positivity in
young women; Nancy even has been named to the  Nassau  County  Board  of
Directors for this wonderful program; and

  WHEREAS,  A  very  giving  and generous woman, Nancy Feinstein has a
great attitude towards life, towards people and towards  her  community;
everything  that  Girls  on  the Run and the Herricks Board of Education
stands for are the very pillars that she bases her life foundation upon;
she is no nonsense and no drama; and

  WHEREAS, With Nancy Feinstein, the only thing the community gets  is
her  time  and  leadership  expertise; she makes other want to be better
people; for example, for no particular reason on no particular day,  she
woke  up  one morning and decided she wanted to spread positive cheer to
the district staff; she non-nonchalantly spread the word that if  anyone
wanted  to  join  her,  she  was  planning on putting post-it notes with
random hand-written messages on the cars at all  the  schools;  so  many
people jumped on-board; and

  WHEREAS, Nancy Feinstein told people that this was all voluntary, if
they  did  not want to participate, it was no big deal; of course, there

were some who  denounced  this  random  of  act  of  kindness  and  even
discouraged  others  from  getting  involved;  that  did not deter Nancy
because all it took was one single thought and the will to carry it  out
to  the  best  of her ability, and she moved forward as she always does;
and

  WHEREAS, Within two days, Nancy Feinstein had dozens  of  volunteers
at  each  school  with  more  than enough post-it notes with handwritten
messages for all the cars in the parking lots, and some  cars  even  got
two or three post-it notes; and

  WHEREAS,  Nancy Feinstein's drive is always towards all that is good
and fair and right; she promotes this way of life into her own life  and
she  teaches it to her children, her family, the girls that she coaches,
and everyone who is in her life; and

  WHEREAS, Rare indeed  is  the  impressive  dedication  shown  by  an
individual for the benefit of others which Nancy Feinstein has displayed
throughout her life; and

  WHEREAS,  It  is  the  sense  of  this  Legislative  Body  that when
individuals of such noble aims and accomplishments are  brought  to  our
attention,  they should be celebrated and recognized by all the citizens
of the State of New York; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED, That this Legislative Body pause in its  deliberations  to
congratulate  Nancy  Feinstein  upon the occasion of being inducted into
the 26th Annual May W. Newburger Women's Roll of Honor by  the  Town  of
North  Hempstead,  in conjunction with the observance of Women's History
Month; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Nancy Feinstein.
