        CONGRATULATING  Maiya  Vorha  upon the occasion of
        receiving  the  Girl  Scout  Silver  Award,  Cadette
        Scouting's  highest award and Girl Scouting's second
        highest achievement

  WHEREAS, Maiya Vorha, through her diligence  and  rigorous  efforts,
has  achieved  Cadette  Scouting's  highest  and  Girl Scouting's second
highest  achievement,  the  Silver  Award;  the  Willistons,  Albertson,
Roslyn, Mineola (W.A.R.M.) Girl Scout Association Award Ceremony will be
held  on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Chaminade High School's Activity
Athletic Center in Mineola, New York; and

  WHEREAS, Maiya Vorha is a member of the Girl Scouts of America Troop
1022; and

  WHEREAS, Girl Scouting has cultivated in our Nation's  young  people
the  goals  of building solid values of sisterhood and the importance of
working with others, stimulating both mind and body,  instilling  pride,
and encouraging community service and success; and

  WHEREAS,  Girl  Scouting  has expanded the horizons of the countless
hundreds of thousands who have participated in Scouting  programs  which
have made Scouting an American and international institution; and

  WHEREAS,  In  2022,  Maiya  Vorha completed a Silver Award community
service project which she planned, developed  and  executed  along  with
three  of  her  fellow  Scouts;  their  project  was entitled, Twenty is
Plenty; and

  WHEREAS, The Silver Award is earned over a two-year  period  and  is
tangible evidence of Maiya Vorha's high character and commitment; and

  WHEREAS,  Maiya  Vorha  is  a  credit to her family, her school, her
community, her State and her Nation, and no doubt  her  future  will  be
filled with accomplishments of equal importance; now, therefore, be it

  RESOLVED,  That  this Legislative Body pause in its deliberations to
congratulate Maiya Vorha, recognizing her  achievement  in  earning  the
Girl  Scout  Silver  Award, and to wish her continued success in all her
future endeavors; and be it further

  RESOLVED, That a copy of this  Resolution,  suitably  engrossed,  be
transmitted to Maiya Vorha.
