AN ACT to amend the environmental conservation law, in relation to
recordings of natural gas contracts or leases
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. The environmental conservation law is amended by adding a
2 new section 23-0315 to read as follows:
3 S 23-0315. RECORDING OF NATURAL GAS CONTRACTS AND/OR LEASES.
4 1. WITHIN FIFTEEN DAYS OF EXECUTION, ALL NATURAL GAS CONTRACTS OR
5 LEASES SHALL BE RECORDED WITH THE COUNTY CLERK'S OFFICE, OR EQUIVALENT
6 OFFICIAL, IN THE COUNTY IN WHICH THE PROPERTY THAT IS SUBJECT TO THE
7 CONTRACT OR LEASE, IS SITUATED.
8 2. SUCH RECORDING SHALL CONSTITUTE NOTICE TO ALL STAKEHOLDERS WITH AN
9 INTEREST IN THE PROPERTY.
10 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
