STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 9924 IN ASSEMBLY April 27, 2016 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SEPULVEDA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Higher Education AN ACT requiring the department of education to study and report on the self-identified ethnicity and multilingual status of all licensed social workers The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The department of education shall prepare a comprehensive 2 study and report on the self-identified ethnicity and multilingual 3 status of all licensed social workers. Such data shall be collected 4 during the licensure and re-registration process of such individuals and 5 then compiled in an easily readable format. 6 § 2. The commissioner of education shall provide such report to the 7 governor, temporary president of the senate and speaker of the assembly 8 no later than one year after the effective date of this act. Such 9 report shall be updated and delivered annually for a total of five 10 years. 11 § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
