STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 8455--A 2021-2022 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY November 17, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. BYRNE -- read once and referred to the Committee on Transportation -- recommitted to the Committee on Transportation in accordance with Assembly Rule 3, sec. 2 -- committee discharged, bill amended, ordered reprinted as amended and recommitted to said commit- tee AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating a portion of the state highway system as the "Putnam Valley First Responders Bridge" The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new section 344-n to 2 read as follows: 3 § 344-n. Portion of the state highway system to be designated as the 4 "Putnam Valley First Responders Bridge". The bridge across the Taconic 5 state parkway on Pudding Street, in the town of Putnam Valley, county of 6 Putnam, shall be designated and known as the "Putnam Valley First 7 Responders Bridge". 8 § 2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal- 9 lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state highway system 10 as designated pursuant to section one of this act. However, to avoid 11 confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce, the desig- 12 nation called for pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of 13 ceremonial nature and the official name of such bridge shall not be 14 changed as a result of this act. 15 § 3.
