        AN ACT to amend the highway law, in relation to designating the  Justine
          L. Hommel Memorial Highway
          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:
     1    Section 1. The highway law is amended by adding a new  section  343-dd
     2  to read as follows:
     3    §  343-dd.  Portion  of  state  highway system to be designated as the
     4  "Justine L. Hommel Memorial Highway". All  that  portion  of  the  state
     5  highway  system constituting state route twenty-three-a in the county of
     6  Greene, from its eastern intersection with Whites Road in  the  town  of
     7  Catskill, continuing in a generally north westerly direction, and termi-
     8  nating  at North Lake Road/County Route eighteen, in the town of Hunter,
     9  shall be designated and known as the "Justine L. Hommel  Memorial  High-
    10  way".
    11    §  2. The commissioner of transportation shall provide for the instal-
    12  lation and maintenance of adequate signing of the state  highway  system
    13  as  designated  pursuant  to section one of this act.  However, to avoid
    14  confusion and to limit any possible disruption of commerce,  the  desig-
    15  nation  called  for  pursuant to section one of this act shall be one of
    16  ceremonial nature and the official name of such  highway  shall  not  be
    17  changed as a result of this act.
    18    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
