       AN  ACT  to  amend the executive law, in relation to requiring automated
         external defibrillators to be available in all state  police  barracks
         and state police vehicles
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. The executive law is amended by adding a new section  222-a
    2  to read as follows:
    3    S   222-A.  AUTOMATED  EXTERNAL  DEFIBRILLATORS.  EVERY  STATE  POLICE
    4  BARRACKS AND SUB-STATION SHALL HAVE AVAILABLE AND EVERY  OFFICIAL  STATE
    5  POLICE  VEHICLE  USED  IN  THE PERFORMANCE OF THE OFFICIAL DUTIES OF THE
    6  DIVISION SHALL CARRY AND MAINTAIN AN AUTOMATED  EXTERNAL  DEFIBRILLATOR,
    7  AS  SUCH  TERM  IS DEFINED IN, AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS SET
    8  FORTH IN, SECTION THREE THOUSAND-B OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH LAW.
    9    S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed-
   10  ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
