         amended and recommitted to said committee
       AN ACT to amend the public housing law, in  relation  to  directing  the
         commissioner  of  housing  and  community  renewal to promulgate regu-
         lations, rules and policies providing for review  of  compliance  with
         section 3 of the federal Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 14 of the public housing law is amended by adding a
    2  new subdivision 7 to read as follows:
    3    7. THE COMMISSIONER SHALL PROMULGATE REGULATIONS, RULES  AND  POLICIES
    4  WHICH  PROVIDE  FOR  THE  REVIEW  AND  DETERMINATION  OF COMPLIANCE WITH
    5  SECTION 3 OF THE FEDERAL HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1968,  FOR
    6  ALL  HOUSING  SUBJECT  TO SUCH ACT LOCATED WITHIN THE STATE. THE COMMIS-
    7  SIONER SHALL SUBMIT A REPORT DETAILING THE FINDINGS OF SUCH  REVIEW  AND
    8  DETERMINATION  TO  THE  SPEAKER AND MINORITY LEADER OF THE ASSEMBLY, AND
    9  THE TEMPORARY PRESIDENT AND MINORITY LEADER  OF  THE  SENATE  EVERY  SIX
   10  MONTHS.
   11    S 2. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day of June or Decem-
   12  ber after this act shall have become a law, whichever shall occur first.
