MENG -- read once and referred to the Committee on Tourism, Arts and Sports Development AN ACT to amend the parks, recreation and historic preservation law, in relation to fees THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Section 13.15 of the parks, recreation and historic preser- 2 vation law is amended by adding a new subdivision 7 to read as follows: 3 7. ANY STUDENT GRADUATING FROM A HIGH SCHOOL DULY ACCREDITED BY THE 4 STATE SHALL BE ENTITLED TO RECEIVE A PASS ENTITLING HIM OR HER ACCESS TO 5 ANY STATE PARK, PARKWAY, RECREATIONAL FACILITY OR HISTORIC SITE WITHOUT 6 CHARGE. SUCH ACCESS WITHOUT CHARGE SHALL BE FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR 7 COMMENCING WITH THE DATE OF GRADUATION OF SAID STUDENT. THE PASS FOR 8 SUCH ACCESS SHALL BE AVAILABLE AT REGIONAL PARK HEADQUARTERS AND SUCH 9 OTHER PLACES AS THE OFFICE OR OTHER STATE AGENCY SHALL DESIGNATE. 10 S 2. This act shall take effect on the first of January next succeed- 11 ing the date on which it shall have become a law.
