        AN ACT to amend the public authorities law, in relation to requiring the
          New York State energy research and development authority to develop  a
          real-time mobile application with a corresponding map with information
          on  electric  vehicle  charging  stations and to make such information
          available on the authority's website

          The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and  Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section  1.  The  public  authorities  law  is amended by adding a new
     2  section 1885 to read as follows:
     3    § 1885. Electric vehicle charging station interactive  map.    1.  The
     4  authority, in consultation with the department of public service and the
     5  power  authority of the state of New York, shall post on its website and
     6  develop a corresponding mobile application with information on  electric
     7  vehicle charging stations available for public utilization. This website
     8  and corresponding mobile application shall include at a minimum:
     9    (a)  an  interactive  map  with the addresses of each electric vehicle
    10  charging station in the state  available  for  public  utilization  that
    11  includes global positioning system (GPS) capability;
    12    (b) the number of charging stations in each location;
    13    (c)  to  the  extent  feasible,  the  operability  status  of charging
    14  stations, including whether charging stations are currently in  use  and
    15  whether charging stations are out of service or otherwise unavailable;
    16    (d)  whether charging stations are level two or level three fast char-
    17  gers;
    18    (e) plug or vehicle compatibility information;
    19    (f) operating hours;
    20    (g) whether charging stations are located in a  parking  lot,  parking
    21  garage or on a street;

         EXPLANATION--Matter in italics (underscored) is new; matter in brackets

     1    (h)  whether  there are fees required to use charging stations and, if
     2  applicable, the price per kWh for charging;
     3    (i)  whether there is a fee to enter a lot where charging stations are
     4  located and, if applicable, the fee; and
     5    (j) the operating company name and contact information to  report  any
     6  operational issue with charging stations.
     7    2.  The  authority,  in  consultation  with  the  department of public
     8  service and the power authority of the state of New York,  shall  update
     9  the  information  on the website and corresponding mobile application no
    10  less than once per month.
    11    § 2.  This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after  it  shall
    12  have become a law.
