STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 5324 2017-2018 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 8, 2017 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. WEPRIN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Cities AN ACT to amend the administrative code of the city of New York, in relation to curb repair The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Section 19-111 of the administrative code of the city of 2 New York, as amended by local law number 104 of the city of New York for 3 the year 1993, is amended to read as follows: 4 § 19-111 Curbs. All curbs for the support of sidewalks hereafter to be 5 laid shall be of the material or materials, dimensions and construction 6 required in department specifications for such work, which shall be 7 prescribed by the commissioner and kept on file in his or her office. 8 All curb and curb cut repairs shall be the responsibility of the depart- 9 ment and any owner of a one, two or three family home, after making his 10 or her request on NYC 311, the official website of the city of New York, 11 shall be entitled to have all repairs completed within a reasonable 12 amount of time. For the purposes of this section, "reasonable amount of 13 time" shall mean ninety days from the date the department receives the 14 complaint. If the repairs are not completed within such time, the home- 15 owner shall be entitled to have all repairs done by a licensed contrac- 16 tor and to receive a property tax credit for the reasonable cost of 17 completing such repair. 18 § 2.
