       AN ACT to amend the New York city charter, in relation  to  requiring  a
         ten  day  period  for licensees to cure violations before the New York
         city  department  of  consumer  affairs   may   commence   enforcement
         proceedings
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Subdivision (g) of section 2203 of the New York city  char-
    2  ter is amended by adding a new paragraph 5 to read as follows:
    3    (5)  NO  ENFORCEMENT  PROCEEDING MAY BE COMMENCED, NO VIOLATION MAY BE
    4  SERVED AND NO CIVIL PENALTY MAY BE ASSESSED PURSUANT TO THIS SUBDIVISION
    5  UNLESS THE DEPARTMENT FIRST PROVIDES THE LICENSEE TEN DAYS TO  CURE  THE
    6  ALLEGED VIOLATION.
    7    S 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred twentieth day after
    8  it shall  have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amend-
    9  ment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation necessary for the implemen-
   10  tation  of this act on its effective date is authorized to be made on or
   11  before such date.
