        AN  ACT  to  authorize  Michael  Telesca  to  take the competitive civil
          service examination and be placed on the eligible civil  service  list
          for employment as a full-time police officer for the county of Living-
          ston

          The  People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem-
        bly, do enact as follows:

     1    Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of  the  civil
     2  service  law,  or  any  other  provision of law to the contrary, Michael
     3  Telesca, employed by the county of  Livingston,  as  a  full-time  peace
     4  officer,  shall  be eligible to take the competitive civil service exam-
     5  ination for the position of deputy sheriff and  shall,  contingent  upon
     6  his  score on such examination, be eligible to be placed on the eligible
     7  list for appointment as a full-time deputy sheriff  for  the  county  of
     8  Livingston.
     9    §  2.  Michael  Telesca  shall  otherwise  be subject to the merit and
    10  fitness provisions of the civil  service  law  applicable  to  full-time
    11  police officers.
    12    § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.
