RABBITT -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Governmental Employees AN ACT to authorize Alexander Nicholas to take the competitive civil service examination and be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the village of Greenwood Lake, coun- ty of Orange THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: 1 Section 1. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 58 of the civil 2 service law, or any other law to the contrary, Alexander Nicholas, who 3 has been continuously employed by the village of Greenwood Lake, in the 4 county of Orange, as a part-time patrolman, shall be eligible to take 5 the competitive civil service examination for the position of police 6 officer and shall, contingent upon his score on such examination, be 7 eligible to be placed on the eligible list for appointment as a full- 8 time patrolman for the village of Greenwood Lake. 9 S 2. Alexander Nicholas shall otherwise be subject to the merit and 10 fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time 11 police officers. 12 S 3.
