STATE OF NEW YORK ________________________________________________________________________ 2942 2023-2024 Regular Sessions IN ASSEMBLY February 1, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. JENSEN -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to sex offender regis- tration of change of address and internet accounts The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assem- bly, do enact as follows: 1 Section 1. Subdivision 4 of section 168-f of the correction law, as 2 amended by chapter 67 of the laws of 2008, is amended to read as 3 follows: 4 4. Any sex offender shall register with the division no later than 5 [ten] three calendar days after any change of address, internet accounts 6 with internet access providers belonging to such offender, internet 7 identifiers that such offender uses, or his or her status of enrollment, 8 attendance, employment or residence at any institution of higher educa- 9 tion. A fee of ten dollars, as authorized by subdivision eight of 10 section one hundred sixty-eight-b of this article, shall be submitted by 11 the sex offender each time such offender registers any change of address 12 or any change of his or her status of enrollment, attendance, employment 13 or residence at any institution of higher education. Any failure or 14 omission to submit the required fee shall not affect the acceptance by 15 the division of the change of address or change of status. Local law 16 enforcement shall submit all change of address and internet access 17 provider forms to the registry. 18 § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
