       AN ACT to prohibit  certain  payments  from  the  Judicial  Supplemental
         Support  Fund  for  the  purpose  of  reimbursing  judges for expenses
         related to services and goods in support of their  judicial  responsi-
         bilities
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the Chief Judge
    2  of the state of New York shall be  prohibited  from  approving  payments
    3  from  the  Judicial  Supplemental  Support Fund to judges of the Unified
    4  Court System for expenses for services and goods to support such  judges
    5  in the performance of their judicial responsibilities.
    6    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
