       AN ACT to amend the social services law, in relation to the  full  take-
         over by the state of New York of county safety net costs
         THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section 1. Section 153 of the social services law is amended by adding
    2  a new subdivision 18 to read as follows:
    3    18. FROM AN AMOUNT SPECIFICALLY APPROPRIATED THEREFOR, THE COMMISSION-
    4  ER OF THE OFFICE OF TEMPORARY AND DISABILITY  ASSISTANCE  SHALL  PROVIDE
    5  ADDITIONAL  ENHANCED  REIMBURSEMENT FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF SAFETY NET
    6  ASSISTANCE TO EVERY SOCIAL SERVICES DISTRICT THROUGHOUT THE  STATE.  THE
    7  REIMBURSEMENT  PROVIDED  BY THE COMMISSIONER SHALL BE EQUAL TO THE COSTS
    8  OF SAFETY NET ASSISTANCE  INCURRED  BY  EACH  SOCIAL  SERVICES  DISTRICT
    9  THROUGHOUT NEW YORK STATE.
   10    S  2. This act shall take effect on the first of April next succeeding
   11  the date on which it shall have become a law.
