AN ACT to amend the insurance law, in relation to requiring ambulances
to provide victims of motor vehicle accidents with information about
certain insurance benefits available to such victims
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
1 Section 1. The insurance law is amended by adding a new section 5226
2 to read as follows:
3 S 5226. DISTRIBUTION OF INFORMATION BY AMBULANCES. ALL AMBULANCES
4 SHALL DISTRIBUTE INFORMATION PERTAINING TO THE INSURANCE BENEFITS AVAIL-
5 ABLE PURSUANT TO THIS ARTICLE TO ALL VICTIMS OF MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS.
6 SUCH INFORMATION SHALL EXPLAIN THE INSURANCE BENEFITS AVAILABLE UNDER
7 THIS ARTICLE TO VICTIMS OF MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS AND SHALL PROVIDE
8 GUIDANCE ON WHERE TO GET MORE INFORMATION OR ASSISTANCE.
9 S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
