       AN  ACT  to  amend the public housing law, in relation to increasing the
         amount of members of the town of Lansing Housing Authority
         THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
       BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
    1    Section  1. Section 547 of the public housing law, as added by chapter
    2  570 of the laws of 1977, is amended to read as follows:
    3    S 547. Town of Lansing Housing Authority.  A municipal housing author-
    4  ity, to be known as the Town of Lansing  Housing  Authority,  is  hereby
    5  created  and  established for the Town of Lansing in the county of Tomp-
    6  kins for the accomplishment of any or all of the purposes  specified  in
    7  article  eighteen of the constitution of the state of New York. It shall
    8  constitute a body corporate and politic, be perpetual  in  duration  and
    9  consist of [five] SEVEN members. It shall have the powers and duties now
   10  or  hereafter  conferred by this chapter upon municipal housing authori-
   11  ties. It shall be organized in the manner prescribed by and  subject  to
   12  the provisions of this chapter, and the authority, its members, officers
   13  and employees and its operations and activities shall in all respects be
   14  governed by the provisions of this chapter.
   15    S 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
