SYNOPSIS

     Requires each public institution of higher education to post its budget on the institution's website.

An Act concerning the budget of public institutions of higher education and supplementing chapter 3B of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    a.  A public institution of higher education shall post by August 15 of each year its budget for the upcoming academic year on the institution's website for public inspection. The institution shall also post a summary document that outlines in a user-friendly manner the institution's major sources of revenue and major categories of expenditures.

     b.    The information required pursuant to subsection a. of this section shall be posted on the website in a prominent and easily accessible location.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill requires each public institution of higher education to post by August 15 of each year its budget for the upcoming academic year on the institution's website for public inspection. The institution is also required to post a summary document that outlines in a user-friendly manner the institution's major sources of revenue and major categories of expenditures. The bill specifies that the information must be posted in a prominent and easily accessible location.
