SYNOPSIS
Requires each nonprofit corporation operating in the State that accepts State funds to hold quarterly board meetings that include time for public participation.

An Act concerning board meetings of certain nonprofit corporations and supplementing Title 15A of the New Jersey Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. Each board of trustees of a corporation organized under Title 15A of the New Jersey Statutes that accepted State funds in the immediately preceding State fiscal year shall hold not less than once per quarter a meeting open to the public that includes a period of time during which the public may discuss issues of concern, notwithstanding any provision in the bylaws of the corporation to the contrary.
Notice of each meeting shall be publicized at least 14 days prior to the date of the meeting and may be provided electronically through the Internet.
2. This act shall take effect on the 60th day following the date of enactment.
STATEMENT
This bill requires that the trustees of a nonprofit corporation in the State that accepted State funds during the prior State fiscal year to conduct quarterly meetings open to the public that include time for the public to discuss issues of concern. The bill requires that notice of such meetings be publicized at least 14 days prior to the date of the meeting, and permits such notice to be posted on the Internet.
