STATEMENT

This bill increases the number of governors of the Board of Governors of Rutgers, The State University needed to constitute a quorum from six to eight.  Similarly, the bill increases the number of governors necessary for a quorum of a joint meeting of the institution's board of governors and board of trustees.  Pursuant to the "New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act," P.L.2012, c.45, the number of governors on the Board of Governors increased from 11 to 15 on July 1, 2013.  Consequently, it is also appropriate to increase the number of governors necessary to constitute a quorum of that board.
