SYNOPSIS

     Permits union officials who represent probation officers to participate in all union activities.

 

CURRENT VERSION OF TEXT

     As reported by the Assembly Appropriations Committee on January 6, 2020, with amendments.

  

An Act concerning union activity of probation officers and supplementing P.L.1994, c.162 (C.2B:11-1 et seq.).

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1.    Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, it shall not be improper for members of collective negotiations units who ¹[represent probation officers, supervisors, and other related titles in] are elected or appointed officers of the majority representative organization representing employees of¹ the Judiciary to participate in union activity, including¹[: lobbying,]¹ the commitment of organization funds¹[,]¹ and partisan political activity.

 

     2.    This act shall take effect immediately.
