SYNOPSIS
Establishes "New Jersey Farm-to-Table Restaurant Awards Program."

An Act establishing the 1"1New Jersey 1["]1Farm-to-Table Restaurant1[" awards program,] Awards Program,"1 and supplementing Title 1[4] 521 of the Revised Statutes.
Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
1. a. The Department of 1[Agriculture] State1, in coordination with 1[any] the Department of Agriculture and appropriate1 agricultural 1organizations and operations1, aquaculture farming 1organizations and operations1, 1[or] and1 restaurant 1[organization as determined appropriate by the department] organizations and operations1, shall establish and promote an awards program to be known as the 1"1New Jersey 1["]1Farm-to-Table Restaurant1[" awards program.] Awards Program."1 The program shall annually recognize1:
(1)1 the best farms 1in the State1, including aquaculture farms1,1 that provide 1locally sourced farm1 products to restaurants 1[that are locally sourced,];1 and 1[annually recognize]
(2)1 the best restaurants 1in the State1 that offer food made with locally sourced farm products.
b. The Department of 1[Agriculture] State1 shall establish an application procedure, 1as well as1 criteria1[,]1 and guidelines for the eligibility, nomination, and judging of applications for awards to the best farms 1[, including aquaculture farms,]1 and restaurants 1[that provide and offer products that are sourced from local farms], in accordance with subsection a. of this section1.
c. The 1[department] Department of State1 shall post the 1[names] name1 of 1[the recipients] each recipient1 of 1an award under1 the 1"1New Jersey 1["]1Farm-to-Table Restaurant1[" awards program prominently] Awards Program" in a prominent location1 on the department's 1Internet1 website, and shall recognize 1[the recipients through the award of] each such award recipient by issuing1 a certificate, a press announcement, or another form of 1documentary1 recognition deemed 1by the department to be1 appropriate 1[by the department] in order1 to highlight the achievements of the 1award1 recipients.
2. This act shall take effect immediately.
