     Validates certain local parking, speed limit and traffic direction  regulations.

An Act concerning certain municipal traffic regulations and supplementing Title 39 of the Revised Statutes.

 

     Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

     1. Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S.39:4-8, R.S.39:4-138, R.S.39:4-197 or any other law to the contrary, municipal ordinances, resolutions, and regulations governing parking, speed limits, and traffic direction on self-contained streets under municipal control that have been in effect for more than four years on the effective date of this act shall remain valid and in full force regardless of whether those ordinances, resolutions, and regulations have been approved by the Commissioner of Transportation.

 

     2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

     This bill would validate existing local parking, speed limit, and traffic direction ordinances, resolutions, and regulations governing self-contained municipal streets that have been in effect for more than four years regardless of whether those ordinances, resolutions or regulations have been approved by the Commissioner of Transportation.
