STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen
AN ACT relative to eligibility of school district employees for Family and Medical Leave Act coverage.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Subdivision; Family and Medical Leave Coverage. Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 70 the following new subdivision:
Family and Medical Leave Coverage
189:71 Family and Medical Leave Coverage. A school district employee who has been employed by the school district for at least 12 months and who has worked at least 900 hours in the previous 12-month period shall be eligible for family and medical leave under the same terms and conditions as leave provided to eligible employees under the federal Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993 (Pub. L. 103-3), 29 U.S.C. section 2611, et seq., as amended.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2017.
