AN ACT relative to prior authorizations for prescription medicine.

ANALYSIS
This bill provides that an approved prior authorization for prescription medicine, excluding opioids and other drugs which have less than a year regimen shall be valid for 12 months.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen
AN ACT relative to prior authorizations for prescription medicine.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Prior Authorization for Prescription Medicine. Amend RSA 415-A by inserting after section 6 the following new section:
415-A:7 Prior Authorization for Certain Prescription Medicine. An approved prior authorization for a prescription medication, excluding opioids or other drugs which have less than a year regimen shall be valid for 12 months. This section shall also apply to Medicaid managed care under RSA 420-J.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
