STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT relative to property settlement including animals.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Annulment, Divorce and Separation; Property Settlement; Animals. Amend RSA 458:16-a by inserting after paragraph II the following new paragraph:
II-a. Tangible property shall include animals. In such cases, the property settlement shall address the care and ownership of the parties' animals, taking into consideration the animals' wellbeing.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
