STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Five
AN ACT relative to changing the state flag design.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 State Flag. Amend RSA 3:2 to read as follows:
3:2 State Flag. The state flag shall be of the following color and design: The [body or field shall be blue and shall bear upon its center] upper half of the flag shall be white and the lower half of the flag shall be blue and shall bear upon it, on the width of the hoist end of the flag, in suitable proportion and colors a representation [of the state seal] in black of the old man of the mountain. [The seal shall be surrounded by a wreath of laurel leaves with nine stars interspersed.] To the upper hoist quarter of the flag shall be placed a circle of 9 5-pointed stars colored in gold upon the old man of the mountain. To the right of the representation of the old man of the mountain, arranged on the center and near the bottom border, shall be the words "Live Free or Die" colored in gold. When used for military purposes the flag shall conform to the regulations of the United States.
2 Applicability; Replacement of Flags. The new state flag design implemented pursuant to this act shall be phased in over a period of 2 years following the effective date of this act.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
