STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twelve
AN ACT prohibiting employees of parties and political committees from running for state office.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Qualifications by Office; Employees of Parties and Political Committees. Amend RSA 655 by inserting after section 10-a the following new section:
655:10-b Employees of Parties and Political Committees. No paid employee of a party or political committee, as defined in RSA 664:2, III, may be a candidate for or take the oath of office for any state office. In this section, a paid employee is a person whose employment by the party or political committee provides his or her primary source of income.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
