AN ACT relative to approval of fees established by the register of deeds.

ANALYSIS
This bill requires the approval of fees for services as established by the county registers of deeds by a majority vote of the both the county commissioners and the county convention taken at least biennially.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Sixteen
AN ACT relative to approval of fees established by the register of deeds.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Registers of Deeds; Fees; Approval by County. Amend RSA 478 by inserting after section 17-j the following new section:
478:17-k Approval of Fees by County. The registers of deeds shall not collect any fee for services provided by the office of the register of deeds under RSA 478:17-g, III, unless such fees have been approved by a majority vote of both the county commissioners and the county convention. The county commissioners and the county convention shall meet at least biennially to review and approve all such fees charged by the register of deeds in the county.
