A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to impose an application fee of ten dollars for a permit or license to purchase a pistol in durham county.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.         G.S. 14‑404(e) reads as rewritten:

"(e)       The sheriff shall charge for the sheriff's services as follows:  (i) upon receipt of an application for a license or permit a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) and (ii)  upon issuing the license or permit a fee of five dollars ($5.00)."

SECTION 2.         This act applies only to Durham County. 

SECTION 3.         This act becomes effective December 1, 2011, and applies to applications submitted for a license or permit on or after that date.
