 BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT to allow the town of carrboro to adopt and enforce within its corporate limits and extraterritorial planning jurisdiction the 2012 energy conservation code and 2012 residential Code.

The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:

SECTION 1.  Notwithstanding any provision of the North Carolina State Building Code or any general or local law to the contrary, the Carrboro Board of Aldermen may by ordinance adopt and the Town of Carrboro may enforce within its corporate limits and extraterritorial planning jurisdiction the 2012 Energy Conservation Code and 2012 Residential Code approved by the North Carolina Building Code Council at its meeting on December 14, 2010.

SECTION 2.  This act is effective when it becomes law.
