A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
AN ACT to appropriate funds to support the defense and security technology accelerator.
The General Assembly of North Carolina enacts:
SECTION 1. There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Department of Commerce the sum of one million dollars ($1,000,000) for the 2011‑2012 fiscal year to be allocated to the Partnership for Defense Innovation, a nonprofit organization. These funds shall be used to support the Defense and Security Technology Accelerator, a business incubator focusing on economic development opportunities in the industries relating to homeland security and national defense.
SECTION 2. This act becomes effective July 1, 2011.
